The United States Justice Department is still actively prosecuting within the online casino gambling industry and the latest casualty of all of this is two payment processors that have been forced to forfeit their funds because of allegations and actions from the DoJ. Both of the payment processors involved in the latest DoJ action have been an active part of the US market, processing for online casinos and internet poker sites long before the UIGEA banned US gambling financial transactions. The recent case shows that the DoJ nabbed a large $13.3 million in money from the two payment processors in question, Allied Wallet Inc and Allied Systems Inc. These two related companies are owned and operated by Ahmad Khawaja.

The US situation has really gotten out of hand in many ways as the DoJ started a strong campaign over the summer to seek out and penalize any of the payment processing companies that were still allowing offshore online casinos access to US gamblers. Both of the processing companies involved have blatantly ignored the UIGEA ruling and its implications and have continued to support internet poker sites that want US access. PokerStars is one of the most prominent online casino poker sites that used Allied Wallet and Allied Systems to transact with interested US players.

The allegations against these two companies is strong and continuous from the DoJ – the funds were seized last year, along with funds from other payment processors and the drama just never seems to stop. While the UIGEA is in its last legs the US DoJ apparently plans to milk the controversial legislation for all it’s worth and bleed money not from the online casinos – but from the payment processing companies that were illegally operating in the US market.
